about.
I came into the modular synths via the Synth DIY scene and have been making and using eurorack synths for 10 years.

My first case was a cardboard box, followed shortly afterwoards with a wooden wine box and wooden fixing rails. I quickly left the severly DIY'd cases behind for a more suitable, just about, open backed table top rack ears. This is a quick and easy route into a proper case. But still far from what i really wanted.
What i really wanted was a case I could take to friends, play out, and as many of us aspire to, play live.
If possible I would recommend the safisfying and fulfilling endeaver of making their own eurorack case. However i wanted to be able to transport my rack safely and securely, ideally patched. Although the previous iterations of my case all did the job they were far from suitable to provide the secure travel system i wanted.

I'm not a fan of big wooden cases as i felt them to be a bit too heavy and i didnt have the tools to make a one anyway. I searched online and couldnt find the style i liked. I wanted a case in the style of an attachee case, something smart but also didnt bring too much attention.
I looked at converting a cheap tool case from china but they dont have anywhere near the structural strength needed for a big case, often made with cardboard and no where near strong enough to house heavy eurorack modules, rail system and power supplies.

So i looked into making my own, made connections with Elevator Sound who were estatic there was a bristol based case maker.

In the future I would like expand the range of cases on offer, and venture into the studio cases and integrated utilites to integrate into proffessional music set ups.
